JOHOR BARU — July 3, 2020: An assistant director with Johor Immigration, a 50-year-old female, has been arrested as part of investigations on a migrant smuggling operation.
She was arrested at home on Wednesday afternoon, following the earlier arrests of three other Immigration officers.
The women is suspected of providing false Immigration stamps to syndicates smuggling in Indonesians whose social visit passes had expired before the implementation of the movement control order on March 18.
Johor police chief Datuk Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay said the suspect is a 50-year-old woman.
To date, 23 enforcement personnel in Johor have been arrested, comprising 14 from the police, five soldiers and four from Immigration.
