PUTRAJAYA — Aug. 13, 2020: Ten Malaysians were among the 11 local transmissions confirmed in the last 24 hours, during which another four cases were imported.
Significantly, nine of the local transmissions came from a new cluster in Kedah.
The total cases for the country since January 25 is 9,129, of whom 8,821 have recovered.
The four imported cases affected Malaysians, with three returning from Indonesia and one from Yemen.
Health director-general Datuk Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah said both tests on a student in Lembah Pantai were negative, although the student did test positive for dengue.
The 54 close contacts of the student all negative.
No case has so far been reported among supporters of former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak who gathered by the hundreds outside the Kuala Lumpur High Court on July 28 without practising distancing.
