KUALA LUMPUR — Feb. 5, 2020: PKR vice-president Zuraida Kamaruddin has taken leave of absence from all party posts pending disciplinary proceedings against her, with a letter on this sent to party president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Her political secretary Nor Hizwan Ahmad today said that Zuraida sent a letter to that effect on Monday to PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Another letter was sent to the disciplinary board in response to two letters of demand against her from Anwar’s political secretary Farhash Wafa Salvador and PKR secretary general Datuk Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.

A show-cause letter was issued to Zuraida, who is also Housing and Local Governments Minister, on January 18, believed to be a result of a speech highly critical of Anwar last December and also due to her absence from party meetings since the last several months.

At the same press conference, Ampang PKR deputy division chief Amsah Djabir accused Kedah PKR Kedah chief Datuk Johari Abdul, an Anwar ally, of being part of a plan to sack Zuraida from the party.
