Zoo Negara’s public relations officer, Mohd Saffuan Ahmad said the programme was organised to celebrate the birthday of the pair which had been here since May last year.
Liang Liang gave birth to a baby panda at 1.45pm on Tuesday at the Giant Panda Conservation Centre (GPCC) in the national zoo.
“Today, we will take the bloggers around the zoo, and they can see for themselves the latest animal species at the National Zoo,” he told Bernama Sunday.
The pandas, formerly known as Fu Wa and Feng Yi, arrived in Malaysia on May 24, 2014, as a symbol of 40 years of diplomatic ties between Kuala Lumpur and Beijing.
Today’s programme, which was a collaboration between Zoo Negara and Kelab Blogger Ben Ashaari, aimed to bring the bloggers to observe the animals at the zoo, in addition to promoting Zoo Negara.
Farah Waheda Wahid, 32, who was among the bloggers who participated in the programme, said they would write a review of today’s activities, so that people who read their blogs would find out the latest developments at Zoo Negara.
The programme was attended by more than 50 bloggers from around the country.- BERNAMA
