KUALA LUMPUR — Dec. 3, 2019: If yesterday’s testimony was essentially on an international shopping spree by former deputy prime minister Datuk Seri Zahid Hamidi and wife Datin Seri Hamidah Khamis, today those in court heard about the many luxury vehicles the couple possessed, including nine high-end big motorcycles.

Among the marques were three Toyota Vellfire, a BMW 320i (A), an AUDI Q7, a Mercedes Benz CLS 350, a Lexus LX 460, Toyota Land Cruiser, Honda Odyssey and Chrysler Jeep Wrangler. One vehicle was registered under the name of Datuk Juhari Janan, formerly Zahid’s special officer.

The high-powered motorcycles were two Harley Davidsons, two Ducatis, three BMWs, a Kawasaki and a Honda C100.

According to prosecution witness Zaharudin Zainuddin of the Road Transport Department, the total road tax paid a year came to RM35,726.80.

Zahid is facing 47 charges involving millions of ringgit belonging to the Yayasan Akalbudi which he formed.

The trial before Justice Collin Lawrence Sequerah continues tomorrow.
