KUALA LUMPUR — June 1, 2020: The widow of a man who died after being hit early today by a motorist suspected of being drunk has declared that she will never forgive the offender.
“I will not forgive him,” said Zahlawati Zahlan at the KL Hospital.
Zahlawati’s husband Mohamed Zaili Mohamed, 44 was killed while on his way home after sending food that she had prepared for their part-time business.
She said nothing could compensate the loss of her husband. The couple have five children aged between seven and 15 years.
Her husband did many part-time jobs especially after the movement control order was implemented to contain the Covid-19 pandemic.
According to Zahlawati, her husband had left their home in Ampang about 9.30 last night to deliver food in Pantai Dalam. She phone him several times until someone answered and told her that Zaili had met with an accident.
Zaili was killed on the spot after being thrown to the road shoulder of the Sultan Iskandar Expressway. The car driven by the suspect rear-ended his motorcycle.
Khor Yong Zhang, 21, was today charged with causing Zaili’s death while driving under the influence of alcohol.
