Two PKR local councillors quit party after suspension

KUALA LUMPUR — June 4, 2020: Two PKR local councillors, one for Selayang and the other for Shah Alam, quit the party with immediate effect yesterday after they had their membership suspended.

In doing so Jess Choy and Shoba Selvarajoo said they have lost confidence in PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, claiming that his failed leadership resulted in the last year’s “embarrassing” party polls which was marred by a brawl, allegations of corruption and technical glitches.

PKR was split between two camps after the polls, with one faction for Anwar and the other for then deputy president Datuk Seri Azmin Ali.
