Two more cops charged for bribery

KUANTAN — Jan. 24, 2020: Two policemen were charged today on two counts of accepting RM3,000 in bribes three years ago from a man alleged to have been in possession of smuggled cigarettes.

Corporal Mohammad Faizal Abdul Shukor, 41, was charged with accepting RM1,800 from trader Wong Kok Wei in 2017 allegedly to induce the accused who was then with the patrol car unit not to take action against Wong.

In the same court, Lance Corporal Muhammad Fahmie Fesal, 27, a colleague of Faizal, was charged on four counts of accepting RM1,200 also from Wong.

The two who were not represented by counsel pleaded for lower bail on the reason that they were supporting their parents, children and siblings.

Yesterday, three cops who were with the Petaling Jaya district police were charged with accepting bribes totalling RM22,500 to release three foreign women from custody.
