KUALA LUMPUR — Dec. 10, 2018: Two ministers — Datuk Mohamaddin Ketapi and P. Waytha Moorthy — today stated that they have no assets to declare to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission.

Mohammadin, who is tourism, arts and culture minister, described himself as a poor man without any assets and that his only income is his monthly salary as a minister.

Moorthy, a minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, said that as an activist before, all his income as a lawyer went to championing the people’s welfare and left him without any savings.

“What is there for me to declare if I don’t have any assets. I don’t even own a car or a house. I am a poor man.

“If in future  I have one (asset), I will declare but as it is now, no, I got nothing to declare,” Bernama reported Mohammadin as saying at the Parliament lobby.

He is  one of the 13 MPs listed at the MACC website as those who have yet to declare their assets.
