PUTRAJAYA — Aug. 14, 2020: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission today arrested a Shah Alam City Council enforcement director, making him the ninth officer from the council to be arrested relating to a protection racket of illegal businesses in Sungai Buloh.
The 59-year-old was arrested at the MACC headquarters here in the morning before being taken to court for a remand order just like the other eight officers before him.
Three other officers were arrested yesterday and remanded today for six days. The first four officers were remanded earlier in the week.
Revelations on shady business protection were shown in two videos by a burger seller who also alleged that illegal gambling outlets were allowed to flourish in Sungai Buloh.
