MELAKA – Aug 11, 2020: A thunderstorm rolled through Melaka this morning, causing injuries and damaging properties, with social media users sharing posts of the aftermath.

The downpour and strong winds devastated several buildings, one of them SJK(C) Malim, a vernacular primary school in Malim.

According to a post retweeted by TV3 — six pupils from the school were injured after getting hit by a collapsed ceiling.

The storm, which occurred around 10, also caused many large trees to be uprooted or toppled onto roads.

One of the videos showed a giant cloud formation stretching over the Straits of Malacca from West Aceh, leading to the thunderstorm.
