KUALA LUMPUR — May 30, 2017: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Wisma Putra) has received reports that three Malaysian students had been detained by the Greater Manchester Police yesterday.
“It is believed that the students were brought to the Longsight police station for questioning. All three were later released,” Wisma Putra said in a statement today.
Malaysians living in Manchester are advised to report to the High Commission of Malaysia in London as per below:

In another statement, Wisma Putra said Malaysia condemns the launch of a ballistic missile by the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) yesterday.
“This is the third launch within a month, making it a total of nine to-date this year. The continued refusal by the DPRK to immediately stop its nuclear and ballistic missile programmes, as prescribed by the United Nations Security Council, has further escalated the already tense situation in the Korean Peninsula,” it said.
The statement added that Malaysia further condemns the flagrant violation by the DPRK of the relevant UNSC resolutions.
“Malaysia strongly urges the DPRK to fulfil its international obligations in the interest of regional and international peace and security. In this regard, Malaysia calls for the resumption of peaceful dialogue and negotiations between the DPRK and the relevant parties,” it said. — Bernama
