JAKARTA — Sept. 11, 2019: Third Indonesian president Bacharuddin Jusuf Habibie or B.J. Habibie died in hospital today due to various health problems.
His son Thareq Kemal told local media that his father died after undergoing intensive treatment by doctors from the Indonesian presidential doctors team after being admitted to hospital on September 1.
Habibie, 83, was the third Indonesian president, succeeding President Suharto and held the post from May 21, 1998, to October 20, 1999.
In March last year Habibie had intensive treatment in Munich due to complications affecting the heart and liver and also due to asphyxia. — Bernama
