KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 15 2016 : A total of 93 Bumiputera projects have been granted financial assistance worth RM231.23 million from the TERAJU@ECER’s Facilitation Fund, generating 8,707 jobs.

Unit Peneraju Agenda Bumiputera (Teraju) said the Facilitation Fund had become a catalyst for infrastructure and equipment components of Bumiputera projects.

In 2012, Teraju started a collaboration with the East Coast Economic Region Development Council Corridor (ECERDC), namely TERAJU@ECER, which attracted investment worth RM1.8 billion.

“Teraju is working closely with ECERDC to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the delivery system to Bumiputera entrepreneurs, particularly in the corridors of ECER,” Teraju said in a statement today.

The statement was issued following the launch of a RM32 million automotive warehouse facility built by Nilai Mahir Sdn Bhd for Mercedes-Benz at the Automotive Industrial Park in Pekan, Pahang by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib
Tun Razak.

The warehouse facility, developed purposely for a storage of car components and parts, received RM4.76 million Teraju’s facilitation fund.

As at end-August 2016, the facilitation fund initiative recorded RM1.5 billion approvals for 432 projects, creating 41,601 jobs.  – Bernama
