Tabung Haji to give depositors bonus of 6.25 per cent

PUTRAJAYA — February 7, 2018: Depositors with Tabung Haji will receive an after-tithe bonus of 6.25 per cent for last year, with 1.75 per cent of it meant for those who have yet to perform their pilgrimage.

The payout to be credited into their accounts on Monday is higher than the 5.75 per cent for the previous year which set aside 1.5 per cent for the latter category.

The highest TH has paid out in the last six years was the 8.25 per cent in 2014.

In announcing the payout today, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Jamil Khir Baharom said TH recorded RM2.8 billion of after-tithe profit last year, which was 13 per cent higher than the previous year’s.

TH last year spent RM356 million to send Malaysians for haj.

Present at the announcement were Deputy Minister in the PM’s Department Datuk Dr. Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki, TH Chairman Datuk Seri Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim and TH group managing director and chief executive officer Datuk Seri Johan Abdullah.
