JCorp makes Syed Mohamed new president/CEO

KUALA LUMPUR — Jan. 10, 2020: Johor Corporation (JCorp) has appointed Datuk Syed Mohamed Syed Ibrahim as president and CEO effective yesterday.

Syed Mohamed has over 34 years of experience and expertise in banking, corporate, real estate development, technology and business strategy. He has a degree in economics from the University of Malaya.

Prior to his appointment, Syed Mohamed was chairman of Felda Investment Corporation; president and executive director of Iskandar Waterfront Holdings Sdn. Bhd.; chairman of EnCorp Berhad; president & CEO of Iskandar Investment Berhad; CEO of TH Properties Sdn. Bhd. and group director of DRB-Hicom.

His appointment follows the retirement of Datuk Kamaruzzaman Abu Kassim last December 31.

Johor Mentri Besar and JCorp chairman Datuk Dr. Sahruddin Jamal was quoted in a statement as saying he was confident Syed Mohamed will continue to ensure JCorp’s relevance and sustainability in undertaking its role as a state development agent.
