KLANG, June 19 2018 : Amirudin Shari, the state assemblyman for Sungai Tua, is the new menteri besar of Selangor.
He succeeds Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali who has been appointed the Minister for Economic Affairs in the Cabinet of Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
Amirudin, 38, took his oath of office as the 16th menteri besar of the state before the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, at Istana Alam Shah here. The Sultan also presented him with the letter of appointment.
Also present at the ceremony were the Tengku Permaisuri of Selangor, Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin, and the Raja Muda of Selangor, Tengku Amir Shah.
The swearing-in, held at the Balairung Seri (Throne Room) of the palace, was witnessed by Shah Alam High Court Judge Datuk Mohd Zabidin Mohd Diah. – Bernama
