KUALA LUMPUR — April 8, 2020: Broadcast personality Suhaimi Sulaiman has been appointed as chairman of Bernama, the national news agency, for a one-year term effective February 1.
He succeeds Datuk Seri Azman Ujang, who was appointed in 2016.
Suhaimi, 57, who has vast experience in broadcasting and journalism, is a former CEO and editor-in-chief of TV news channel Astro Awani.
He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Portland State University and a Master of Business Administration from City University, Bellevue, Washington.
Communications and Multimedia Minister Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah today also announced the appointment of 12 members of the Bernama board and four members of its supervisory council also for a year. The council is headed by Shah Alam High Court judge Datuk Azmi Ariffin.
