KUALA LUMPUR — Feb. 3, 2020: (Bernama) — Former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak made a U-turn today when denied ever being in contact with fugitive businessman Low Taek Jho or Jho Low on the management of his bank accounts.
This contradicts what he said last January 9 in response to a query by prosecutor Datuk V. Sithambaram. During that cross-examination Najib said that he was in contact with Jho Low on a few occasions regarding the accounts.
Najib repeated today his earlier testimony that most of the time it was his former principal private secretary Datuk Azlin Alias (now deceased) who handled his bank accounts but did not discount the possibility that Azlin may have been in contact with Jho Low on this.
Najib is making his defence on several charges involving RM42 million from SRC International Sdn. Bhd.
The hearing before Justice Mohd. Nazlan. Mohd Ghazali continues tomorrow.
