IPOH — Feb. 20, 2019: An early morning fire at an entertainment centre here killed six people, three of them foreigners.
Two others were critically injured while seven managed to flee from the blaze that occurred at 5.40 am on the fourth floor of an eight-storey building on Jalan Raja Dr. Nazrin Shah.
Four of the dead were identified as Malaysians Tai Chee Kin, 37, Lau Wai Hoong, 36, a Bangladeshi and another yet to be identified, while another two victims were Vietnamese women Nguyen Thi Trang, 19, and Nguyen Thi Thuy Dhong, 21.
One of the two critically injured is a Malaysian man, Ng Kook Eng, 39, while the other has yet to be identified.
The bodies of Tai and Lau were found near the exit of the premises while four were in a karaoke lounge.
