KUALA LUMPUR — Aug. 11, 2020: Three Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) officers have been arrested by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission for suspected involvement in a protection racket involving unlicensed businesses in Sungai Buloh.

The agency also arrested an Indonesian trader who was then handed over to Immigration on suspicion of being an undocumented migrant.

The arrests followed an uproar over two videos that recently went viral, purportedly showing proof of corruption.

MACC deputy commissioner (Operations) Datuk Seri Ahmad Khusairi Yahaya said the agency appreciates those who could provide it with information on corruption among enforcement officers and assured that the identities of whistleblowers will be protected.
