KUALA LUMPUR — Nov. 1, 2018: Seven police personnel, including a few mid-level officers, have been suspended from work over the alleged disappearance of RM7.9 million belonging to an investor during a search at his condominium on Jalan U-Thant here on September 8.

The money allegedly went missing after the search conducted by the KL police narcotics department.

The investigation papers have been handed over to the public prosecutor’s office, said Inspector-General of Police, Tan Sri Mohamad Fuzi Harun, after a seminar today.

Late last month, the press reported that at the time of the incident, the 50-year-old complainant was in Jakarta. He claimed that when he returned to his condominium, he found RM7.9 million and his car keys missing.​​​​​​​

Of the cash missing, RM2 million was kept in his BMW car, RM3.9 million in his bedroom and RM2 million in a  safe.

It was reported that the suspects included a female assistant commissioner, a superintendent and an inspector.​​ –​ Bernama
