Senior federal counsel, DPPs remanded for alleged corruption

ALOR SETAR — June 2, 2020: A senior federal counsel and two deputy public prosecutors are being remanded for three days for alleged corruption. The trio based in Penang were arrested by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission yesterday.

It is learnt that they had asked for RM500,000 in bribes to settle a case.

Lawyer Haniff Khatri Abdulla appeared for the prosecutors while the senior federal counsel was unrepresented.
