KUCHING — May 18, 2020: Sarawak PKR Women’s chief Catherine Jok Uvang and Kakus Women’s chief Caroline Ukau @ Gerunsin today announced their resignation from the party, stating that they have lost confidence and trust in the leadership.

According to Catherine, the party no longer lives up to its ideals of justice and equality for all.

Instead, the leadership is focusing on the personal interests and ambitions of certain leaders.

Catherine also described the recent mass sackings and suspension of members nationwide, including those of Selangau MP Baru Bian, Batu Lintang assemblyman See Chee How, former state deputy chairman Baharuddin Mokhsen and former state Women’s chief Nurhanim Mokhsen, as beyond comprehension and unacceptable to members.

Other Sarawak PKR leaders who have left the party in recent days include Mas Gading division chairman Boniface Willy Tumek and his deputy Francis Teron Kadap, national Women’s vice-chief Voon Shiak Ni and state Youth deputy chief Steve Teo.
