KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 30 2018 : With Sabah and Sarawak being the remaining states yet to hold their Parti Keadilan Rakyat election, the votes by their members will determine whether Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali or Mohd Rafizi Ramli gets to be the party deputy president.

With all 12 states (except the Kuala Selangor division in Selangor which has been rescheduled) having completed their polls, Azmin, who is Economic Affairs Minister, is ahead with 46,759 votes compared with Rafizi, who has so far obtained 45,112 votes.

It shows Rafizi is behind by 1, 647 votes, as indicated by the unofficial results of the PKR election posted on the website  https://www.pemilihankeadilan2018.com .

The results, however, did not include the votes in Melaka and Negeri Sembilan, which have yet to be posted on the website.

If one were to look at the results posted on Rafizi’s social website, it showed him leading Azmin with 3,053 votes, with the former Selangor menteri besar obtaining only 2,961 votes in Negeri Sembilan.

It also showed Rafizi leading in Melaka, though with a slim majority. He received 1,541 votes, while Azmin secured 1,521 votes.

But, if the votes in the two states were totalled, Rafizi is still behind Azmin by 1,265 votes.

Yesterday, Rafizi was announced the new Pandan divisional head after defeating his three challengers in the third phase of the election in Selangor.

Rafizi obtained 566 votes, while the three other contenders for the post, namely Haniza Mohd Talha, secured 405 votes, Nor Hayati Haron ( 353 votes) and Mohamad Shauki Mohd Hashim (71 votes).

Nevertheless, Rafizi failed to get the majority votes from members in the division for the post of deputy president when only 508 members voted for him, while Azmin obtained 715 votes.

Sabah, which has 145,639 PKR members who are eligible to vote, will hold its party election on Nov 3 and 4, involving  25 divisions, while Sarawak, with  56, 362 members eligible to vote, will hold its election on Nov 10 and involves 29 divisions.

The results in the two states will determine whether Azmin or Rafizi gets the number two post in the party.

On the election results for other posts in the party, Nurul Izzah Anwar, who was returned unopposed as the Permatang Pauh division leader, leads the list for the vice-president post.
