KUALA LUMPUR, June 7 2018 : The federal government has fixed RON95 and diesel retail prices at RM2.20 per litre and RM2.18 per litre respectively, while the price for RON97 would be floated on a weekly basis.
Finance Minister, Lim Guan Eng said RON97’s current price of RM2.66 per litre would be maintained until June 13, 2018.
“The federal government will subsidise 33 sen per litre for all retail purchases of RON95 and diesel this week.
“Without the subsidies, RON95 and diesel prices would have been RM2.53 and 2.51 per litre, respectively,” he said in a statement today.
Lim said global crude oil price was at US$76 (US$1=RM3.97) per barrel, while refined petrol and diesel products stood between US$87 and US$88 per barrel.
He added that the federal government had allocated RM3 billion until year-end for the subsidies, as well as to maintain the RON95 and diesel retail prices for this year. – Bernama
