PUTRAJAYA — Dec 13, 2019: PKR vice-president Rafizi Ramli remains free after the prosecution today withdrew the appeal over his acquittal in a banking privacy case linked to the National Feedlot Corporation.

Prosecutor Jasmee Hameeza Jaafar told a panel of three judges of the Court of Appeal headed by Justice Datuk Yaacob Md. Sam the prosecution was also withdrawing its appeal against the acquittal of bank clerk Johari Mohamad from charges of abetting Rafizi.

The prosecution had filed its notice to withdraw the appeal on December 9.

The Shah Alam High Court had last November 15 discharged and acquitted Rafizi and Johari from charges under the Banking and Financial Institutions Act (Bafia) after allowing their appeal to set aside the conviction and sentence of 30 months jail.
