KUALA LUMPUR, June 4 2018 : A property developer has sued former Felda chairman Tan Sri Shahrir Abdul Samad for damaging its reputation.

Synergy Promenade Sdn Bhd filed the defamation suit today through Messrs Reza Rahim & Rajivan, claiming the defendant made slanderous statements against it between December 2017 and March 2018.

In its statement of claim, the plaintiff alleged that Shahrir’s statements which were published by the mass media and posted on Facebook and You Tube as well as news portals had tarnished its reputation and caused it to lose projects being undertaken.

The company is seeking an injunction to restrain the defendant from repeating his allegedly slanderous statements, and damages of RM100 million, interests, costs and any other relief. – Bernama
