KUALA LUMPUR — Nov. 1, 2017: Prince Charles and his wife Camilla will make an official visit to Malaysia from tomorrow to November 8.
This is the first visit by the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall to Malaysia.
Previous visits by members of the British Royalty were in September 1998 by Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh to attend the opening of the 16th Commonwealth Games and the visit by Prince William and Kate Middleton in September 2012.
Prince Charles and Camilla will visit a number of places and participate in events to commemorate the 60th anniversary of Malaysia-United Kingdom bilateral relations.
Prince Charles and Camilla are also expected to have an audience with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and a meeting with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.
To commemorate the historical visit, Pos Malaysia has issued a special stamp.
Malaysia is UK’s second largest export market in Asean while the UK is Malaysia’s third trading partner in Europe. There are currently more than 18,000 Malaysians studying in the UK. — Bernama
