SHAH ALAM — Nov. 9, 2018: The police will call up actor-cum-director Datuk Farid Kamil Zahari in connection with his claim of being offered a bribe of RM5 million by the previous government .

Selangor CID head SAC Fadzil Ahmat confirmed today that a report had been lodged in Kota Damansara yesterday by a man who claimed to  represent Datuk Lokman Noor Adam, the president of pro-Umno non-governmental organisation Pemantau Malaysia Baharu.

The complainant claimed to have watched a video on YouTube where Farid Kamil said he was offered RM5 million by the Barisan Nasional government to forgive former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak and his wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor.

He further alleged that Farid Kamil had intentionally made up the story to tarnish Najib and Rosmah’s image, and also asked that if it was true why didn’t Farid Kamil report the matter to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission.

In the video that was uploaded at MyFokus Online two days ago, Farid Kamil, in a programme by Al-Hijrah TV, alleged that there was an attempt by the BN government to bribe him. — Bernama
