KUALA LUMPUR — May 16, 2018: Police this evening searched five locations linked to former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, including at the Pavilion KL residences and his Jalan Duta home.

The other places searched were Sri Perdana, the official residence of the PM, and the PM’s Office.

Federal police Commercial Crime director Commissioner Datuk Seri Amar Singh confirmed that the searches were intended to look for evidence in an ongoing probe.

An increased police presence around about 10.15pm in front of Najib’s house in Taman Duta brought hordes of journalists there. Seen were several police vehicles and a Black Maria truck.

Police began arriving in numbers after Najib had returned from terawih prayers at the Kampung Baru mosque.

The Berita Harian daily reported seeing Najib’s lawyer Datuk Hasnal Rezua Merican entering the house while Najib’s press secretary Datuk Seri Tengku Sariffuddin Tengku Ahmad was also there.
