KUALA LUMPUR — Jan. 11, 2018: Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB) has handed over business zakat (tithe) amounting to RM11.592 million to the Penang government.

The payment however did not cover the income distribution for unit holders who invested with Amanah Saham Nasional.

Thus the trust account holders are advised to pay their own zakat for every unit they have invested, said a PNB  statement.

PNB, one of the largest fund management companies in Malaysia, currently has assets under management exceeding RM276.5 billion compared with RM3.5 billion in 1981. — Bernama
