PM’s Department guards remanded over theft of election funds

PUTRAJAYA — Aug. 8, 2018: Seventeen security staff of the Prime Minister’s Department have been remanded for five days from today in relation to an alleged embezzlement of RM3.5 million in election funds.

One is an officer and the rest guards.

They were taken by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission by bus to the magistrate’s court here.

Bernama mentioned that a source said the agency seized cash of RM840,700 and nine motorcycles worth RM90,000.
