KUALA LUMPUR, March 19 2016 : Pelaburan MARA Berhad (PMB) chief executive officer Ahmad Nazim Abd Rahman has lodged a police report against Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) vice-president Rafizi Ramli and the National Oversight & Whistleblowers Centre (NOW) for allegedly defaming him.

He said the report was made following allegations which implicated him in real estate transactions involving the Dudley International House in Australia last year.

According to Ahmad Nazim, the statement by Rafizi, who is also Pandan MP, caused him humiliation and affected his reputation as MARA staff.

He was speaking to reporters after lodging a police report at the Dang Wangi police headquarters today.

The issue arose after Australian newspaper, The Age, claimed that several high-ranking officials in MARA and a former politician had spent millions in government funds to purchase an apartment block in Melbourne, via its subsidiary company, MARA Incorporated Sdn Bhd (MARA Inc).

Ahmad Nazim said he was not involved in any decision made by MARA Inc, adding that he would appoint a lawyer to file a lawsuit on the matter. – Bernama
