MELAKA — Dec. 6, 2019: Fistfights, stone-throwing and disruptions to audio and video feeds made more of the news at the PKR Youth and Wanita annual congress here today in what is indicative of the bigger picture in the ruling coalition’s most dominant party.

A man may have been injured in the head after being hit by a stone. Fights were also seen outside the Melaka International Trade Centre in Ayer Keroh, venue of the congress.

Heated arguments were also heard at the Wanita congress when some members were told they were not registered as delegates.

The ugly situation at the Youth congress started when sacked permanent chairman Muhamad Mizan Adli Mohd. Nor insisted on taking what he maintained was rightful place on stage.

Otherwise the ruckus was caused by members who were peeved when not allowed into the hall while outside the venue, on the road, two rival factions in either black T-shirts or blue party shirts decided to shout at and shove each other.

The situation only cooled off as the groups dispersed to go for Friday prayers.

PKR Youth chief Akmal Nasrullah Md. Nasir had to stop his opening address when the situation got a bit heated.

One divisional leader claimed that those who were known to be supporting Mizan and his deputy Mohd. Ramly Ahmad , who was also sacked recently, were not allowed into the hall and that was another cause for the troubles.
