TANJUNG MALIM, July 16 2020: PKR will contest in the upcoming Slim state seat by-election.
Perak PKR chief Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak today said the party will field a candidate from the constituency.
The by-election should be held following the death of Barisan Nasional’s Datuk Mohd Khusairi Abdul Talib yesterday.
“I would like to extend my condolences to the family of Mohd Khusairi, who passed away.
“PKR will defend his legacy by nominating someone from the area. We will continue to strive for the people as the Opposition during this challenging time,” said Farhash in a statement.
Mohd Khusairi, who was the Tanjung Malim Umno division chief and an Umno supreme council member died from a heart attack while playing golf at a resort in Genting Highlands. He was 59-years old.
In the 14th General Election, he secured the Slim seat by defeating candidates from Pribumi Bersatu and PAS.
