KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 5 2018 : Pakatan Harapan (PH) is committed to its promise for the separation of powers between the Attorney-General and Public Prosecutor, however, it will not be raising the subject in Parliament at the moment, Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Law), Mohamed Hanipa Maidin, said today.

A separation of powers can be performed with a revision of the Federal Constitution, he said.

“Amending the Constitution, based on Article 159 (3), requires two-thirds support, but we do not have it for now, so we rather not risk submitting the motion in Parliament, it may not be approved,” he added. – Bernama
