KUALA LUMPUR — April 18, 2018: A total of 4,200 families in Kedah, Selangor, Kelantan, Sabah and Sarawak will receive monthly food aid for one year through the Petronas Sentuhan Kasih programme beginning this month.
A statement today said that the programme is aimed at improving the livelihood of communities through an allocation of more than RM5 million.
In addition to receiving a monthly contribution of RM80 for a year, the families will receive RM240 each during the festive seasons.
All contributions will be made via cashless payment, where recipients can obtain essential food items at partnering supermarkets using their MyKad.
Petronas senior general manager (group strategic communications) Zahariah Abdul Rahman said Sentuhan Kasih is one of the company’s key corporate social investment programmes aimed at contributing to society. Petronas is looking to expand the aid to other states.
The contributions will be administered and distributed through MyKasih Foundation from through to March 2019.
Since 2005, Petronas has embarked on several community initiatives aimed at contributing to the well-being of society and the nation. — Bernama
