KUALA LUMPUR — May 11, 2016: Petronas today moved another step closer towards realising the development of the Pengerang Integrated Complex (PIC) with the signing of three engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning contracts for the complex’s petrochemical plants.

Two contracts were signed with a consortium of Samsung Engineering Co. Ltd., Samsung C&T Corporation and Samsung Engineering (M) Sdn. Bhd. for a linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) plant and an ethylene oxide
ethylene glycol (EOEG) plant.

Aanother contract was signed with a consortium comprising Tecnimont SpA, Huanqiu Contracting & Engineering Corporation, TECNIMONTHQC Sdn. Bhd. and TecnimontHQC S.c.a.r.l. for a polypropylene (PP) plant.

Both consortiums received their letter of award from PRPC Polymers Sdn. Bhd. (for LLDPE and PP) and PRPC Glycols Sdn. Bhd. (for EOEG) late last year. The three plants are expected to be completed by early 2019.

Upon completion, the LLDPE plant will be able to produce 350,000 metric tonnes per annum (mtpa) of LLDPE, the EOEG plant will produce 740,000 mtpa of monoethylene glycol and the PP plant will produce 900,000 mtpa of
homopolymer and copolymer polypropylene.

Developed within a 6,242-acre site, PIC forms part of the Pengerang Integrated Petroleum Complex. — Bernama
