KOTA KINABALU, May 29 2018 : Petronas highlights the value of togetherness, gratitude and Sabah traditions in its Kaamatan Festival webfilm this year that was launched tonight.

The 90-second webfilm, which was also highlighted the essence of the rich culture and rituals of Kaamatan, previewed at the special Unduk Ngadau Gala Dinner held in-conjunction with the festival, here.

Titled ‘Home Is Where the Heart Is’, the webfilm reflects the importance of togetherness while preserving the traditions and cultural heritage.

Petronas Group Strategic Communications Senior General Manager Zahariah Abdul Rahman said the company was proud to produce an exclusive webfilm that highlighted the unique and colourful traditions celebrated by the Kadazan Dusun.

She said the webfilm tells an interesting story about Lena, a Sabahan young lady who lives in Kuala Lumpur and has not seen her family for a while due to her busy schedule and work commitments.

Zahariah said as Lena misses out on the Kaamatan, intricate items and visions from her hometown suddenly appear, reminding her of all the good memories celebrating the festival with her family.

“The key message is no matter how far we go in our lives we must remember our roots and most importantly our family,” she told reporters at the preview session.

Zahariah also thanked Kadazan Dusun Cultural Association (KDCA) Executive Secretary Dr Benedict Tapin on his cooperation to ensure an impactful and meaningful webfilm.

Viewers may log on to Petronas’ official YouTube channel to view the webfilm from today, and the 60-second TV commercial version will be aired until June 3. – Bernama
