KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 29 2018 : Petronas Dagangan Bhd (PDB) has introduced Setel, the first Southeast Asia’s e-payment for fuel purchases directly from mobile devices.
Setel is a customised solution designed to integrate directly to the fuel pumps – the first in Southeast Asia – enabling customers to purchase fuel within a few clicks directly in the comfort of their vehicles.
In a statement today, PDB said Setel could now be used at more than 40 stations in the Klang Valley, reaching 600 sites by June 2019 and was expected to go nationwide by the end of 2019.
“Beyond fuel purchase, customers would be able to purchase items at the Mesra stores beginning January 2019,” it added.
Meanwhile, PDB Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Datuk Seri Syed Zainal Syed Mohd Tahir said Petronas has been focusing on creating a new customer experience in its retail business by leveraging the power of digital.
“Setel enables a seamless end-to-end experience that focuses on providing convenient and ease for fuel purchases at our customers’ fingertips,” he said.
Head of Setel Iskandar Ezzahuddin said the mobile application had received many positive responses and feedback from over 10,000 users in its current pool since its beta-launch in July this year. – Bernama
