KUALA LUMPUR — July 26, 2019: Pekan Umno has filed a preliminary objection against a forfeiture suit by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission which is seeking to recover monies linked to 1Malaysia Development Berhad.
Counsel Datuk M. Reza Hassan for Pekan Umno told this to High Court judge Mohd. Nazlan Mohd. Ghazali during case management today. The objection was filed on Tuesday.
Another lawyer, Md. Yunos Shariff, representing Naza Quest Auto Sdn. Bhd., and Amin Othman for Yayasan Rahah, told the court they had requested for a full settlement for both respondents but prosecutor Allan Suman Pillai said the prosecution needed time and informed the court it would give an on August 23.
Nazlan then fixed Aug. 23 for case management for all three.
The court was scheduled to hear today the prosecution’s application to gazette a notice for third parties claiming any interest in the property seized from all respondents to be present in court and stake their claim. — Bernama
