KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 10, 2020: PBS has hit out at the Warisan leadership for condemning those who defected to the opposition as “political frogs”.

PBS information chief Datuk Joniston Bangkuai pointed out in a statement today that Warisan deputy president Darell Leiking and vice-president Junz Wong had defected from PKR and DAP, respectively.

He also reminded the Warisan-led government that it came into power after the last general election in 2018 because Upko assemblymen and several others left Barisan Nasional to support Warisan president Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal.

“It seems that Shafie’s definition of ‘katak’ (frog) is people who do not support him.

“As such, he lacks the moral authority and political integrity to teach ‘frogs’ a lesson and should stop this hypocrisy,” said Bangkuai.

Shafie was previously reported as saying that “political frogs” will not be considered when choosing candidates for the upcoming state polls.

“Shafie can vent his frustrations and call the elected representatives who left his backdoor government all sorts of names, but before he does that, he should first look at himself,” added Bangkuai.
