KUALA LUMPUR — July 16, 2020: The government has confirmed that former Permodalan Nasional Berhad Group head Jalil Rasheed has a degree from the University of London and is not a graduate of the London School of Economics and Political Science.
This confirmation came in a written reply in the Dewan Rakyat today to a question from Bangi MP Ong Kian Ming.
The reply stated that the Securities Commission, after detecting inconsistencies in the academic and employment background given to it via PNB, made further enquiries.
It met Jalil on June 11 to obtain further clarification. Two days later Jalil tendered his resignation, citing personal reasons.
The PNB board accepted the resignation at a special meeting on June 15.
