KUALA LUMPUR – December 15, 2017: The Ministry of Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism (KPDNKK) has pointed out to consumers via its Facebook account that the price difference for RON95 petrol since the implementation of weekly fuel price adjustment mechanism in March has been only 1 cent.
Since that time RON95 has increased in price 20 times for a total of 84 sen but it also dropped 14 times for a total of 83 sen.
The price of RON95 was RM 2.30 per litre before the mechanism and record shows that it did not exceed that price many times.
“Not just that but RON95 price also went to as low as RM 1.89 per litre,” said KPDNKK.
The ministry acknowledged that the price hit record levels last month at RM2.38 per litre but stressed that it had happened only once since March.
The current price is RM2.25 per litre, down from RM2.29 last week.
