Over 1,200 evacuated due to Sabah floods

KOTA KINABALU, June 29 2020: A total of 1,210 people from 375 families are currently placed at 15 flood evacuation centres in Sabah.

Sabah disaster management committee stated in a statement today that 323 evacuees were placed at four centres in Kota Belud and 634 at eight centres in Tenom.

Another 62 evacuees have been placed at a centre in Papar, 19 in Penampang and 49 in Beaufort.

The statement also noted that 152 villages in 11 districts in Sabah had been affected by heavy rains which started on Saturday.
