JOHOR BARU, June 24 2020: The number of flood evacuees in Johor has increased to 798 people as of 8am today compared to only 687 last night.
State Health and Environment Committee chairman R.Vidyananthan in a statement today said the districts still affected by the floods which started last week were Kulai, Pontian, Batu Pahat and Muar.
A total of 292 evacuees from 82 families are currently housed in five relief centre in Muar, namely Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Parit Nawi, SK Orang Kaya Ali, SK Batu 18, SK Parit Bulat and SK Seri Menanti.
In Batu Pahat, 205 evacuees from 44 families are placed at SK Peserai, Sekolah Agama 3 Serangkai and SK 3 Serangkai.
In Pontian, 282 people from 75 families were being sheltered at SK Seri Bukit Panjang, SK Seri Bunian, SK Kampung Melayu Raya, SK Agama Kayu Ara, SK Belokok, SK Penerok and SK Sanglang.
In Kulai, 19 evacuees from five families were placed at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Bukit Batu.
