KUALA LUMPUR — June 4, 2020: The Pribumi Bersatu parti has sacked its Penang chief Datuk Marzuki Yahya, who had also stood his ground to claim that he remained as the party’s secretary-general despite being removed from this post.
The latter to this effect was issued by party president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin yesterday.
According to party sources, there was also another letter on the sacking of supreme council member Akramsyah Muamar Ubaidah Sanusi. Both Marzuki and Akramsyah had pledged allegiance to former party chairman Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, who has also been insisting that his removal as a member was unconstitutional and that he is therefore still the chairman.
Pribumi Bersatu had on May 28 issued letters on the termination of membership of Mahathir and four other parliamentarians after they opted to sit with the opposition during a parliamentary session on May 18.
