PUTRAJAYA — Sept. 6, 2018: Sungai Besar Umno divisional head Datuk Seri Jamal Md. Yunos now wants Attorney-General Tommy Thomas to withdraw the charges against him via a letter of appeal.
The letter was received by the special officer at the AG’s office, Wasri Ahmad Sujani.
Jamal, who was accompanied by two lawyers, said currently he was facing three charges while two other cases are being investigated.
He said the accommodating attitude of the AG in dropping charges against several individuals such as Rafizi Ramli and Lim Guan Eng had led him to take the opportunity to capitalise on the good nature of the AG.
“I am confident my appeal will be accepted in view of the sensitiveness and concern shown by Tommy since his appointment as AG,” Jamal told reporters.
He suggested that those who have been charged or prosecuted should take the opportunity to appeal for their cases to be dropped.
Jamal has been charged with by trespassing a business premises and escaping from police custody. — Bernama
