IPOH, Jan 13 2020 : There will be no investigation into a police report lodged by Perak MCA against DAP’s Keranji assemblyman Chong Zhemin, who allegedly accused the party of misappropriating money meant to build a hospital in Kampar.
Perak police chief Comm Datuk Razarudin Husain said there was no basis to investigate the report as the matter is an internal issue within the Health Ministry.
“The money was not disbursed so no investigations would be conducted,” he said after witnessing the handover ceremony between outgoing deputy state police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Lim Hong Shuan and his successor Senior Asst Comm Datuk Mazlan Santarai at the police headquarters here today.
Comm Razarudin’s comment follows a statement issued by the Health Ministry that the funds were not disbursed following Chong’s allegation.
Chong, had on Jan 2, alleged that MCA had misappropriated RM150mil that was meant for the construction of the new Kampar district hospital, and claimed that the money was to be used for a private hospital in collaboration with UTAR.
On Jan 7, Perak MCA Public Service and Complaints Bureau chief Low Guo Nan lodged a police report against Chong over the allegation.
